The Edmonton Eskimos showed a flair for the dramatic in Saturday night CFL action. Trailing 30-21 late in the fourth, Edmonton came all the way back to defeat the visiting Hamilton Tiger Cats 31-30. One of the stranger sports stories of the past is that of Rick Ankiel. Ankiel became a vital cog in the starting rotation of the 2000 St. Louis Cardinals and as a lefthanded pitcher possessing both velocity and wicked breaking stuff his upside was unlimited. The New York Giants used a potent ground attack and a suffocating defense to shut out the host Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-0 on Sunday. The Giants amassed 397 total yards including 226 on the ground, while the defense held Tampa to 86 yards of total offense and five first downs. The Packers Aaron Rodgers threw for 269 and two touchdowns and rushed for a third as Green Bay pulled away in the second half. The victory snapped a five game road losing streak for Green Bay and improved their 2009 NFL regular season record to 2-1. The Rams dropped to 0-3 in the 2009 NFL season.
Stu Ungar didn't have much going for him in most areas of life. In fact, it could very well be argued that he was downright inept in most areas of existence.
